Drug-resistant melanoma cells visualized by fluorescence microscopy

Our lab is interested in building a quantitative understanding of cellular function. We develop new tools — based on imaging and sequencing — and use them to ask how single cells make decisions: how genetically identical cells adopt different fates, how do rare cells drive outcomes like drug resistance in cancer, and how do cells self-organize into cooperative communities. We are also interested in how machine learning and artificial intelligence can be used to accelerate the scientific process.

Our lab is a richly interdisciplinary group that integrates concepts from physics, math, computational sciences, molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology, cancer biology, and more. If you are interested in joining, do get in touch!
